The shop and centre is open from 10am to 5.30pm (and often later), seven days a week between late March and the end of October half term. The beach is, of course, always open for your enjoyment but dogs and barbeques are not permitted at any time between Good Friday and September 30th.
Location
Polkerris is located on the East side of St Austell Bay and is accessed by a typically Cornish lane that leads to a large car park about 200m from the beach.

- Take the A38 from Plymouth
- Turn off to Lostwithiel and St Austell on the A390
- Pass through Lostwithiel, and after 1.7 miles...
- Turn left towards Fowey on the B3269
- Turn right at the roundabout at Newtown by the Texaco petrol station
- Turn left to Polkerris and Menabilly
- Follow the signs down into the village
- Follow the A390 to the South side of St Austell
- At the roundabout after St Austell Garden Centre, turn right onto the A3082
- Carefully follow signs to Fowey as the road wiggles through Par
- At the top of a very steep hill, turn right to Polkerris
- Follow the signs down into the village
You can also come via the A30, turning off at Bodmin. Follow the signs to Lostwithiel and turn right when you get to the A390.

- Newquay airport is a 40 minute drive from Polkerris.
- There is an hourly Western Greyhound bus service (525) from the top of the road, which goes to Fowey at 10 minutes past the hour, and to St Austell via Par train station at 5 minutes to the hour.
- Polkerris is just 2 miles from the mainline rail station at Par, with a direct service from London Paddington. We will be happy to help you arrange taxis.
