The shop sells all you need for a day on the beach: buckets-and-spades, fishing nets, crab-lines, sun cream, sun hats, swimming costumes, body boards, snorkels, flippers and inflatables. If you buy an inflatable, we will even inflate it for you to save anyone passing out from the effort! We also stock top brand wetsuits from local companies such as Gul and Blue Rush. We sell outdoor clothing, T-shirts, fleeces, kagoules and our very popular own-design hoodies (for which we give a donation from each sale to 'the Precious Lives appeal' raising funds for a Children's Hospice over the bay from us at Porthpean). To save you lugging stuff from the car, we rent sun-loungers and other kit from the hut on the beach.

The Polkadot Cafe is the place to get an ice-cream, coffee or snack. Roll up to the cafe, get what you want and relax at our picnic tables located right on the beach-front. If you are staying in our caravans or are on one of our watersports courses, you can run a tab, which saves you having to take cash to the beach. The Polkadot policy is to source local food and drink, all of our food and drink suppliers are based in Cornwall. For example, we offer top quality pasties and scones from a local bakery and delicious, award winning, Treleavens ice cream, produced nearby in Looe. Our tea (served in a polkadot mug) and coffee is Fairtrade and we offer a range of cold drinks and organic cordials. Our Polkadot hot chocolate specials prove very popular with our watersports customers.

In addition to our own facilities, there's also the Rashleigh Inn which does good beer and good food, right next to the beach (and is listed in the Times Online top 10 pub gardens for 2009) and, new last year, 'Sam's on the Beach' which serves top quality seafood and pizzas.
